Patterns on the Floor

This morning, as I was enjoying my morning coffee and writing in my journal, I noticed the early morning sunlight had painted some patterns on my living room floor.

I feel like I haven’t photographed anything in forever (for shame), and when I took these photos I remembered how much I enjoy finding small patches of light in places like dark forests and bedroom walls.

I’m thinking this will become more of a series as we settle in our new home and I discover more and more patterns drawn by sunlight at different times of the day. For now, here are the two photos I took this morning. These are digital and were taken with my Nikon D5300. I’m hoping that, at some point, I can get some light patterns with the Leica or the Canonet. Both of them are great cameras for that sort of thing.
